Wine Hunters

Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is Australia’s most famous wine region; the legendary home of Australia’s flagship wine, Shiraz.  No other place in Australia can produce such big and robust Shiraz as the sun-baked Barossa.  If you love big red wines, this is the region for you.

Barossa’s wine heritage stretches all the way back to the early 1800s and in fact vines planted there in the 1840s are producing wine grapes of great character today.  While Barossa’s history and heritage has been built on Shiraz, Baorssa today also produces a number of other vairetals exceptionally, most notably Grenache.

If you know nothing about Australian wine and could visit but one region, the Barossa Valle must be it.

As with the entire Wine Hunters site, we only write about the wines and wineries we love.  We have visited scores moe in Barossa than what is listed below.  These are simply the best of the best.
