We are prone to overusing certain words at WineHunters, but Kalleske truly is a “revelation”. When it comes to fine food and drink (particularly when the underlying fruit is so fussy to grow!), many believe “organic” or “biodynamic” implies less flavour profile. Kalleske, boasting one of the more impressive overall ranges you will find in the Barossa, blows that notion away. There is a reason this winery is exporting to 22 countries – their wines are amazing and reasonably priced. Kalleske specialises in well-balanced wines that still have ample character (a tough balance to achieve!). It is very rare that we award three wines 5 of 5 OR take four different wines home from one winery. (At the asking price, you are unlikely to find a more rewarding Shiraz.) This one cannot be missed for any reason. A top pick of the Barossa.
