Margaret River is undoubtedly WA’s most prominent wine region and is considered by many to produce Australia’s best Cabernet Sauvignon as well as some of its best Chardonnay.  Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon is a blend that you will find here in abundance as well.  Although not WA’s oldest wine region, Margaret River boasts the state’s most iconic wine houses such as Vasse Felix, Cape Mentelle, Leeuwin Estate, and Voyager.  In addition to fantastic wines, Margaret River is one of Australia’s most naturally beautiful regions.  A full three hours drive from Perth, but worth every minute.
