Summary:
If ever there was a winery that was truly about letting the fruit and terroir speak for itself, it must be Blind Corner. The words and ideas that capture the place include “organic,” “biodynamic,” “no oak,” “wild ferment,” etc. The results are some truly interesting wines, and at their best (2017 Rouge Cab Shiraz and 2017 Field Blend Shiraz (not really a field blend at all lol) as examples), beautiful wines of great elegance and clarity.
Blind Corner’s cellar door is a working cellar door, but it’s cute. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and genuine. Show a little interest and they’ll be thrilled to show you around the whole place and explain it all. Truly, it is a lovely place to visit. With 24 hectares and growing, Blind Corner has also begun doing some contract winemaking. We would expect to see them in more and more places in the year to come.
