Mr Barval is a new player on the block in Margaret River, but the promise is already clear.  Mr Barval grows no grapes; rather they produce exclusively from their picks of others’ fruit.  In the right hands, this approach can pay massive dividends, and so we find at Mr Barval a small range of wines that are perfectly balanced, and if defined by one word, “polished”.  These are not heavy wines; they’re simply great wines that glow in the mouth.  We cannot wait to see what this place produces in the coming years.  Based on what it achieved so soon with the 2018 vintage, we expect great things.

But don’t wait for the coming years to visit this breathtaking cellar door.  Like the wines, the cellar door is bright, polished, and beautiful.  Unlike some of the monolithic affairs of the region, Mr Barval’s is almost a Mediterranean Villa-styled cellar door.  Very bright and open aired.  The staff here are both knowledgeable and friendly.  You will have a great time.
