Just north of Launceston (Tasmania’s second largest but still quite small city) in the north of Tasmania, the Tamar Valley is the state’s most prolific wine region.  Australia’s most famous bubbles houses are here as are many smaller wineries producing notable craft wines.  Pinot Noir and Chardonnay can be found in abundance here, but for us, Pinot Gris is the region’s stand out varietal.
