We just loved this place. It is young, it is ambitious, it is homey, and above all you feel welcome here. This family-run winery, along with the winery dog is just such a warm and rewarding experience.

Swinging Gate would be one of they youngest wineries with one of the older vineyards in the Tamar. (The family purchased a 20+ year old wild vineyard that one of the majors had left wild some 15 years!)  Their wines are already notable. We can’t wait to see what they’re doing in three years!

Tuck into some local cheeses to complement your wine tasting and even try the newest vintage Pinot Noir straight from the barrel – it’s amazing! Make sure you stop by here if you are in the area.
