Today, we review Frankland Estate’s deliciously complex 2017 Shiraz (as part of our challenge to find a great bottle around the $30 mark at the delightful Vintage Cellars). The wine offers hints of cedar, cracked pepper and a touch of cinnamon against a blackberry backbone. Quintessential Great Southern Wine! A medium- to full-bodied wine with all of the nuance and character of the soil and climate that produced it. We love the Great Southern wine region – one of our top 5 in Australia for sure! Other wineries to check out from there include Howard Park Wines (Margaret River winery, but they produce a lot of wonderful Great Southern wines), the cool Byron & Harold, and Forest Hill Winery (one of our absolute favs in all of Australia).
