Yarra Valley Cellar Door is essentially a winery tour all in one stop. On tasting are 10 to 12 different wines from 4 or 5 select Yarra producers. Here you can taste the gamut, from drops like Squitchy Lane Vineyard’s outstanding (and less usual) Fume Blanc to Seville Estate’s traditional cool climate Shiraz (these are just examples; the selection rotates). It’s a great experience and an exceptional way to capture a quick understanding of what the Yarra is all about. 

The Yarra Valley Cellar Door has been open since Dec 2017. It is located at 242 Maroondah Hwy in Healesville. Trading days are Thurs-Sun. Ben, the propietor, is such a cool dude. He’d be worth a visit even if the wines weren’t (but trust us, they are). 

Do we have any constructive feedback? Increase the tasting pour. We are big fans of tasting fees (redeemable on any purchase of course), but when you struggle to fully taste the wine, you might miss some of its magic. In general, we recommend two credible sips to really taste a wine. We would hope that by the time you’ve read this view, that issue has been rectified 🙂
