Summary:

Elmswood Estate is a young winery with great promise currently working on carving out its own identity.  Since 2014, wines have been produced on the property by internal winemaker (vs contract prior).  With an unirrigated vineyard planted in 1981, Elmswood has all the right building blocks.  We see great flashes of promise in their wines, and in fact Elmswood has produced one of the best Yarra Pinots we’ve ever enjoyed.

When you call in, ask if winemaker Han is around.  An engaging young winemaker, if he has the time, he’ll be more than happy to show you around the operation.  Its a great crash-course in winemaking and such a tour of a small winery will make the whole trip wortwhile.
