Founded in 2002, Scion is a, perhaps the new kid on the block in this ancient wine region. And as far as Rutherglen goes, Scion would be on the cutting edge of winemaking.  Masters of restrained intensity (which is the true art of wine). We recommend the Durif/Viognier (a serious, super elegant wine presents a wildly (and dare we say French) take on taming a Rutherglen Durif) and 2015 After Dark (a unique fortified; smooth, clean, and super yum).

Owner and winemaker Rowly Milhinch is a friendly guy (with an interesting story) who usually staffs his own cool cellar door.  Well worth a wine chat.  Though small, the cellar door is one of the more stylish in Rutherglen.
