Stonier is on of the most reliable and one of our favourite stops in Mornington.  As with most of the Peninsula, the wines here can vary fairly widely vintage to vintage, but most years, Stonier produces one of the best hallmarks Mornington Pinot Noirs you’ll find.  For example, how about the magical Jack’s Ridge 2016 Pinot Noir – delicate forest floor and light spice floating in mysterious shadow and yet the wine still somehow sparkles with life.  Truly a perfect Mornington Pinot and the kind of wine you can expect to find here most of the time.  They make some damn good text book Chardonnays as well!

Stonier’s cellar door is a classy and quieter affair.  The staff are always friendly and we’ve yet to pay a visit we didn’t enjoy.  As an added benefit, Stonier is literally like a two minute walk from Merrick’s general store (which is also home to an incredible tasting experience), so if you mean to make a day of it, hitting these two is a no-brainer.
