Merrick’s general store is like a cellar door of mini cellar doors.  It regularly offers tastings of the wines of Baillieu and Elgee Park (owned by the same family) as well as the occasional guest wines from other wineries such as Paringa Estate, Pasadera, and others. You always find some great wines here, and the tasting, by dint of having such a huge list, is always a fun and engaging experience.  We always leave with a few bottles and big smiles.  Every time we have visited, the staff on at the tasting bar have been super friendly, so it really is good fun.

Merrick’s general store also has a tasty restaurant.  If you want some delicious food at slightly lower prices than the pretentious winery restaurants with a better chance of getting a booking, Merrick’s is your best shot in Mornington.
