2026 update – Domaine Asmara took out two gold medals in a recent prestigious wine show, including “Best in Class” for its 2018 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

Domaine Asmara regularly produces some of Heathcote’s best red wines, and that’s a huge thing to say for a region as blessed as Heathcote is.  Notably, Domaine Asmara has a fairly extensive range of red wines, and a very gregarious propietor, Andreas.  In our recent visits, we just couldn’t get enough of the 2016 Private Collection Shiraz (an extraordinary value at under $30!).  Their Infinity range is truly stratospheric, but those ones will set you back a few dollars.  In any event, Domaine Asmara is a must for any lover of great AUS Shiraz!
