Brown Magpie is easily one of the top 10 wineries among all of the sub-regions that surround Geelong.  Authenticity runs through every step of Brown Magpie’s winemaking. All of the fruit comes from BM’s approximately 10ha under vine.  This fruit is hand-picked, and the wines are made on site (primarily Pinot Noir, Shiraz, and Pinot Gris with small yields of Chardonnay and Sauv Blanc as well). Most of the wines are aged in French oak for at least a year.  And all of this care and authenticity shines through in the wines, which characterfully sing of place and time.  (We especially enjoy Brown Magpie’s Pinot Gris, which is notable in itself!)

Brown Magpie has an attractive cellar door set right beside its vineyards.  Pop in some time for a glass and you won’t regret it.  Better still, when/if the COVID mess ever ends, book in a more thorough tasting – there is amazing diversity to be discovered across their lovely range.
