Tasting Experience- So, So Sad 🙁

Summary:

Quite literally one of the two or three most beautiful wineries we have ever seen. The place defines stunning, start to finish. Manicured vineyards, mountains and bay outside; studded leather chairs, candelabras, and oak bar carts inside. The tasting pours are generous, so you really savour each wine. (We LOVED the 2014 Musca Syrah – a wine of major gravitas that has captured the maximum its terroir can produce.)  In general, Riversdale has produced some of the most remarkable Tasmanian wines we have tasted.

Were it not for the service, you would never want to leave this place.  But the service … it’s not the staff, they actually seem lovely and you wind up feeling horrible for them as you watch them scurry around as you wait frustratingly, 20 minutes, half an hour, 4o minutes for that first pour.  Perpetually and badly understaffed.  You really need to stop by Riversdale, but add an additional 45 minute buffer to your itinerary.
