Summary:

For a winery that only started in 2000 (when it acquired a large plot of well established vineyard), Yangarra is putting up some impressive results. From the number of wine varieties they are producing (including some less commonly seen in AUS) to the ways they are producing them (fermenting their Grenache and Roussannes in giant ceramic eggs!, biodynamic, organic, etc), we reckon Yangarra is an Australian trend-leader to watch.  It is certainly an archetype for what modern day McLaren is all about and what it can produce. This winery has great aspirations. Like their 2016 Shiraz, amazing now, but we expect even bigger things yet to come. Can’t miss wines: Roussanne, Mourvedre, and Shiraz.

Coming from Adelaide, it’s a fantastic first stop on your wine tour.  While their winemaking style isn’t necessarily our day-to-day go to (generally lighter and more subdued), if you are fans of the style, Yangarra is widely held as one of the best.
