Eden Valley

The Eden Valley is considered part of the broader “Barossa”, but the sub-region certainly produces characterful wines that are often quite different from the big Barossa bombs that spring to mind at the mention of “Barossa”.  In fact, the Eden Valley is classified as “cool climate”, and to our palate, the wines it produces sit somewhere between those of Yarra and Barrossa – plenty of heft and meat to the wines, but also an elegance and restraint.  Eden’s history in wine traces back to the mid-1800’s.  The place today boasts many of Australia’s oldest vines today.  The region’s dominant varietals include Shiraz, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling, although as with every significant wine region today, you can find plenty of other varietals there as well.
