Whistle Post may be the new kid on the block in Coonawarra (launched their own label only in 2011 and the cellar door at the end of 2017), but they are already making quite the statement. The name is fitting because their wines are indeed as “clean as a whistle”. There is a polish across the range we rarely encounter wine-hunting. (The Cab Sav is such a precise, concentrated, focused wine!) Truly delightful! Whilst enjoying these gems, you can also enjoy a chat with Angus, one of the proprietors. They don’t come much friendlier or generous. This place is what an AUS cellar door should be. Definitely a worthwhile stop.
