Rieslingfreak is unquestionably a producer of some of Australia’s best Rieslings, vintage after vintage.  Riesling is all the place does, and the laser focus pays in wine quality.  Winemaker, John Hughes is obsessed with the varietal and its versatility, and in any given vintage he will produce three or four stylistic takes on Riesling.  Whatever you love in a Riesling, you will find here.  John Hughes and Rieslingfreak have achieved a growing crescendo of recognition in the last couple years and it has been well earned.

Rieslingfreak’s cellar door opened in 2018.  We have not visited but look forward to getting there soon.  In the meantime, John can often be found sampling his babies at a vairety of wine shows and events.
