Sidewood Estate’s set up is an all-Australiana good time.  This cellar door offers some crazy fun (you can win a $1,000 voucher if you can hole-in-one from the cellar door a golf hole in the middle of a pond down the hill), but don’t let the chill atmosphere deceive you, the place is lethally serious about wine. Hyper attention to detail (such as picking fruit at 4am and pressing it within an hour so it’s all done at the coldest possible point) is producing some shockingly remarkable wines. From Sav Blanc to Shiraz, there are wines here that cannot be missed! We found FIVE different wines here we could highly recommend in our last visit – it is very rare that we find more than two or three in a range at any stop! Finally, be sure Seth Piszczuk does your tasting. He is a wine god, and his knowledge of the region alone will make your whole trip worthwhile. In short, one of the best stops in all of Adelaide Hills.
