Shaw + Smith is widely regarded as one of the best wine producers in the Adelaide Hills.  Indeed, their relatively (but not that) small range is clinically perfect, shockingly so.  These are text book wines, ticking every varietal box but never veering out of line.  Unfortunately, for us, the expensive tasting experience (relative to most tastings being free; don’t shove cheese down our throats to squeeze out an additional twenty bucks lol) also felt clinical, and while that’s a positive for the wines, less so for the tasting.  Their sharp and modern cellar door is well appointed and provides some good information on the history of the region.  All in all, if you are happy to pay $20 to try five wines, it’s worth a visit.
