Based in the lower Hunter Valley, De iuliis is a Shiraz and Semillon specialist.  With its first plantings dating back to 1990, de iuliis has grown but remains a boutique vineyard with less than 30ha under vine.  The place produces very serious Shiraz, and we would suggest you don’t know Hunter, or perhaps even Australian Shiraz until you’ve tried them.  While varietals such as Cab Sav and Rosé (Sangiovese-based) fly under the radar here, they’re well worth checking out.

De iuliis has a beautiful cellar door, and while it is polished, the experience still feels pretty intimate.  We highly recommend you check it out.
